With a population of more than 200,000, Swindon is the largest city in the county of Wiltshire, even though it was still a small market town until the middle of the 1800s. It was at this time that the Great Western Railway (GWR) established a large maintenance and repair yard in the area, leading to the creation of many new jobs that attracted more people to move here. The post-WWII exodus from London led to another expansion in the city’s size, with many companies relocating here from the capital.
While the GWR has long since disappeared into the annals of history, there are still numerous large companies headquartered in this part of the country. Many of them take advantage of our commercial boiler hire in Swindon and the surrounding area, to keep their premises running when their own heating equipment is being serviced or repaired.
